Girl what would you say? Leave it behind and come my way Girl how would it be? A day in the life of me, you and a dream My sweet columbine We’ll buy us a boat and live real fine Sailing away on an amorous sea A day in the life of me, you and a dream And your mother she’ll be crying happy tears for us Reminded of a love that she once knew Your mother she’ll be whispering happy prayers for us I hear her now The sun will set and the moon will rise We’ll lie in our boat and float to the skies Swinging on stars and bathing in moonbeams A day in the life of me, you and a dream But your father won’t approve of such a life for us Demanding we grow up and soon provide Your father he expects only the worst for us I don’t agree Your sister she’ll be jealous as hell for us Ripe with adoration she’ll miss you the most Your sister’s got a mouth she’s gonna brag on us Let’s not let her down We’re gonna shake this town

Omanishko 03:29
Humming bird hovering at morning dawn Wings at attack beating out a song Her heart is willing but it won’t let go Omanishko He sees her reflection in the glass Tiny little red throat stuck in the past Through his veins a dark sugar flows Omanishko Pulled like a magnet shot like a dart Thrashing through splinters flying straight to his heart She pierces deep and drinks in slow Omanishko

I want you, only you I don’t need anything or anybody else Place your heart next to mine Come on and listen how they’re beating in time Cause we’re two of a kind Two of a kind We are two of a kind And it’s lucky we should be Two of a kind We are two of a kind And it’s everything to me Two of a kind If you feel like I think you feel Not needing anything or anyone but me If you want love that’s true Let the time slip away, no regretting what we do Two of a kind We are two of a kind And it’s lucky we should be Two of a kind We are two of a kind And it’s everything to me Two of a kind If roses and chocolates are given of obligation Just beware it’s not a pretty pair I give to you like you give me too Taking the evening sun, letting go the moon Two of a kind We are two of a kind And it’s lucky we should be It’s everything to me Two of a kind

I’m gathering all the rare and precious things I see Gonna put them in a box and mail them to you Put me in a box and mail me to you I’m choosing a hue a very certain shade of green Gonna paint my walls and bring you home to me Do you remember? Oh how we loved I’m filling up pages with all your signature slang and mood Gonna borrow a few and pass them along Do you remember? Oh how we loved

In your own language in your own In your own time With your own rhyme Find your own space Don a new face In your own fashion in your own In your own way Write your own play Make your own scene Dub a new meaning It doesn’t have to be hip It doesn’t have to be new It doesn’t have to cost a fortune It just has to be you In your own motion in your own In your own form Get yourself born Shimmy, twist, shake No one likes a fake It doesn’t have to be hip It doesn’t have to be new It doesn’t have to cost a fortune It just has to be you You It doesn’t have to be hip It doesn’t have to be new It doesn’t have to cost a fortune It just has to be you

Everything’s almost in place She’s straightening her costume, powdering her face The letter is taped to the door where he used to sleep Jackson has plenty of food in his bowl The bills have sorted, counted and paid It’s seventy-three degrees outside What a perfect day to slip away All the ducks are in line She’s plucked out their feathers one at a time Now the water is starting to boil Such an easy crime Down the stairs in the garage A sixty-one convertible baby blue dodge She knows it’s the simplest chance the perfect circumstance So she turns the key Shuts her eyes to dream….
7.
Is there nothing I can do or say to make you wanna stay? Then go, but don’t look back at me. Is there nothing I can promise or change to help you see the way I do? I remember blowing through traffic lights Racing through downtown past midnight Things got so uncomfortable when you tried to hang on You were only halfway here with one foot out in the hall Are you gone? Is there nothing I can give or take to keep this hurt away? I can’t go there Maybe in a year or two This out of focus picture will come into view

Secret 03:42
Can you keep a secret tucked away inside? If you can I’ll tell you one of mine. Darlin’ if the word got out, I sure would look the fool. You know people talk around and this is such a small town. Can you keep a secret? Can you close and lock the door? Then throw away the key, dear, without asking “what for?” If you can’t I understand, it takes a certain kind. If you can’t we’ll stop right here, before I get to close and you too near Something in your style whispers to me Maybe you’re the one? I felt it for a while. My lips are sealed but baby you’re the one. Cross your heart and hope to die Swear by any name under the sky Now come a little closer tiny little secret. Still a little closer tiny little secret. Come a little closer…mmmm
9.
I’m not to blame a jealous flame fell from the sun And like a hungry eel out for a kill it tore a hole in me Never gonna get over you Trigger finger If hollow steal is all I feel two hands and steady Down on your knees, stop begging please, who gets the first shot? Never gonna get over you Trigger finger I tried to love you like the only And now I’m scared to think it might have never shown Never gonna get over you Trigger finger
10.
Stuck in this town with a fist in your mouth And a heart that’s impaled on the drawing board Nothing lost, nothing found, when you’re stuck in this town Chasing bats ‘round the caves of your mind You’re losing too much time. Self-Sabotage Stardust and dimes stealing peaches from pies You’re no different than the crazies on Congress Wearing license plate eyes, riding stardust and dimes To escape but you cry when it’s through You know this isn’t you. Self-Sabotage All the kings horses and all the kings men Would put you back together if you let them, my friend. But you hate to see it end. Self-Sabotage Stuck in this town with a fist in your mouth And a heart that’s impaled on the drawing board.

Desert Bloom 03:23
Under the weeping silver lime I find you Caught in the sway of three-quarter time I find you And though you won’t stay here I know not to plea I’ll rest in your shadow and breath deeply And tell again the story of a desert in bloom How you roamed in silence all consumed Weightless, submerged, swimming downstream I find you Huddled and waiting in the last line of poetry I find you. Dapper and green like a storybook forest I find you Singing out of time to your favorite chorus I find you And though you won’t stay here you still leave a mark On the borders of this scared and secret heart. And tell again the story of a desert in bloom How you roamed in silence all consumed Tell again the story of a desert in bloom. How I wake in your arms some late afternoon mid fractures of light in an empty room.

Goodbyee 03:24
Adieu, goodbye, farewell, so long Words I never like to say Cheers, shalom, aloha, farvel I wish that somehow you could stay I hate to see you go Why don’t you stop it right now? You have to force me to No, I don’t want to learn how. Adieu, alvida, sayonara, bye-bye The timing always seems wrong Namaste, adios, selamat- tinggal, ta ta Try not to drag it out too long There’s a frog in my throat Darn it I’m trying not to cry Isn’t it best dear if we both shut up and lie? You could say “See you tomorrow.” And I’d reply “Maybe tonight!” We’d both raise our hands, shake um and shout with a smile: Hello, bonjeur, hola, ahoy Words much easier to say Hi, guten tag, howdy, ciao, Then turn and slowly walk away
